About Me

About Me

Hello! My name is Maxim Nekhoda. I’ve always had a passion for art, design and problem solving. I first began attending art school at age 7, and grew up drawing and painting every chance I got. I was exposed to digital media production in high school and quickly became fascinated with the space.

I began doing graphic design professionally in 2006, and have been active in this field ever since. In 2010 I joined the Canadian Royal Navy, but continued to do freelance work in my spare time. Having retired from the military, I’ve rededicated myself to visual design entirely. I currently specialize in User Experience and User Interface design. I am also learning JavaScript, React and other front end development tools to better understand the entire production journey, from napkin sketch to launch.

After more than a decade of freelance and full time design work, I’ve been lucky enough to produce logos, signage, posters, brochures, menus, books, vehicle graphics, clothing patches, t-shirts, leaflets, presentations, websites and mobile apps. If you print it, post it, publish it or launch it, I’ve probably dabbled with it as some point.

I love learning new skills and am constantly looking for innovative ideas and inspiration. I believe that truly impactful design comes from a genuine emotional connection. What message do you want to send, and how does it make you feel?
